User Experience Design

I have over 17 years of agency and in-house experience in leadership and hands-on roles in UX projects. I bring a broad skill set to Lean and Agile teams, including user research, facilitation, sketching, storyboarding, prototyping, information architecture, visual design and usability testing.

I'd love to show you my process, how I have solved business problems and how I have delivered measurable results with my user experience work. Contact me to see my portfolio.

Design Leadership

My first leadership role was as Head of Information Architecture at London digital agency Fortune Cookie. As a Director, I went on to lead all delivery at the agency and the management team, including the Heads of User Experience, Design and Front-End Development.

As a company director, I worked closely with the CEO and CFO in business planning and the development and execution of the agency strategy. I played a key role in the rapid, stable growth from a 10 person to a 120+ person global agency, then establishing and running the Melbourne and Sydney offices.

I have devised and run department and individual development programmes for many design roles including UXers at all levels, to ensure continual growth, engagement and retention once great talent is hired.

Workshops and Speaking

I devise and run UX workshops for organisations, projects and education. I'm co-running a workshop on UX career development in October.

I enjoy speaking on a range of design and leadership topics. My most recent talk was on user research using the Experience Sampling Method.

Teaching and Writing

I am a Lead UX Instructor at General Assembly, Melbourne, giving classes on UX Design, UX Career Development, Design Thinking, Lean UX, Usability and Information Architecture. I am Lead Instructor on 10-week user experience part-time courses. I'll be instructing my seventh 10-week part-time UX Design course from November.

I have written, designed and illustrated two books, both published by Chrysalis and published in the UK and USA.
